Meet the Artist
Hi, I’m Scott — the artist behind SW Painting Studio.
Miniature painting has been a lifelong passion of mine, just as it is for so many people in this hobby. I still remember attending tournaments and being drawn to the Best Painted Army displays, amazed by the skill and creativity on show. Seeing those armies inspired me to push myself, improve my painting, and chase that same standard in my own work.
Over the years, that passion grew into more than just a hobby. After winning multiple Best Painted Army awards and earning recognition as a GBHL Artisan, friends and family began asking me to paint miniatures for them. What started as helping others bring their collections to life gradually became SW Painting Studio.
With over 20 years of experience, I’ve painted everything from Warhammer 40K armies and Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG) collections to Star Wars Legion forces and display-quality showcase pieces. While I’m proud of the awards and recognition I’ve received, I’m always learning and improving as an artist. The miniature painting community is filled with incredibly talented painters, and I’m grateful to be part of a hobby that constantly inspires me to grow.
My goal is always to create characterful, story-driven miniatures that look incredible both on the tabletop and in the display cabinet. Whether it’s a fully painted army, a competition piece, or a favourite character model, I approach every commission with the same care, precision, and attention to detail that first made me fall in love with the hobby all those years ago.

Awards, Recognition & Specialisms
Over the years, my work has earned multiple Best Painted Army awards and recognition as a GBHL Artisan within the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG) community. While miniature painting began as a personal passion, it has grown into an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects for collectors, gamers and hobbyists across the UK.
I specialise in commission miniature painting for Warhammer 40K, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game (MESBG), Star Wars Legion, historical miniatures and display-quality showcase pieces. From tabletop-ready gaming armies to custom character models and centrepiece projects, every commission is approached with the same attention to detail, storytelling and passion for the hobby.
No matter the size of the project, my goal remains the same: to create miniatures that capture character, atmosphere and bring each collection to life.
